Legal Notice

OpenPolicy generates policy documents from your configuration. It does not provide legal advice.

The documents, components, and defaults produced by OpenPolicy — including any templates, presets, and jurisdiction-specific supplements — are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer licensed in your jurisdiction.

Privacy, cookie, and data-protection obligations depend on the specific data you collect, the services you integrate, the regions your users are in, the contracts you have in place, and the way you operate your business. No automated tool can resolve those facts for you. You are responsible for the policies you publish and the practices they describe.

Before you publish

Have a lawyer review your policies before they go live, and review them again when your product, data practices, or regulated surface changes. Regulators and courts look at the substance of your practices, not the tool that generated the document.

No lawyer-client relationship

Using OpenPolicy, reading its documentation, or communicating with its maintainers does not create a lawyer-client relationship. OpenPolicy does not provide legal services and no OpenPolicy output should be relied on as such.

No warranty

OpenPolicy is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or compliance with any specific law or regulation. See the license terms in the source repository for the full disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability.
